Greece Mission Team: Summer 2025

International Association for Refugees Canada's mission trip to Greece will work in refugee camps on the islands of both Lesvos and Samos. We will be working alongside our partner, Eurorelief, and our staff member, Rob Perry, to serve residents in the camps. We will be engaged in red line and green line work from welcoming refugees into camp, handing out clothing and food, education for children, and men's and women's community engagement. Our teams will be serving in an international team of young adult believers who have given their time to live and serve on the island.

International Association for Refugees works with churches and Christian organizations around the world to help people recover from forced displacement.

The Church is uniquely suited to walk alongside refugees, supporting people who have experienced displacement in areas of recovery including education, trauma care, shelter, and community.

IAFR Continuum of Response

Picture
*Adapted from IAFR USA
The response to the global realities facing millions of refugees requires long-term recovery work that serves to generate hope, and help refugees rebuild their lives.

Often refugees find themselves viewed only as people in need. Recovery work helps re-humanize people and restore hope. Recovery work seeks to strengthen community, faith, emotional well-being and personal capacity. It also includes getting behind the ideas and solutions of refugees themselves, recognizing the important contributions they offer in finding solutions to their displacement.

This is International Assocation for Refugee's strategic part in seeking the welfare and protection of forcibly displaced people in the world today.*
