Called to Welcome

It is in God’s nature and his actions to love and welcome all who would be welcomed by Him.

John 6:37 “ whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”

He tells his people that they must care for refugees because they were refugees and He cared for them.

“The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.” Leviticus 19:34

No one is to be considered a stranger, or an outsider.

“ Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household…” Ephesians 2:19

It has always been a hallmark of the church to show hospitality and to care for those in need

All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day…they broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Acts 2:44-46

The church is a global network of local communities committed to loving their neighbours and caring for the needy. When there is disaster and crisis, the local church has always been on the frontlines responding. Wherever people are displaced – there is a local community of Christians ready and able to care.
